We are proud to inform that F1 champions Kimi Räikkönen and Mika Häkkinen are both taking part in the 44th Arctic Lapland Rally. Their attending to the competition was confirmed late on Wednesday evening. After the release of this news, the interest of the international media grew exponentially. And why shouldn’t it? F1 champion 2007 Kimi Räikkönen and two-time F1 champion 1998 and 1999 Mika Häkkinen last met on the racetrack in October 2001, F1 Gran Prix in Japan. Räikkönen in Sauber and Häkkinen in McLaren. O’Halloran & McEnery - Group N Champions in Galway International Rally
Monday, January 19, 2009 @ 4:25 PM :: National Rally Championship

Clare’s Anthony O’Halloran and Charlie McEnery driving their Mitsubishi Evo IX lifted the laurels coming out winners of Group N and 5th overall in last weekend’s Safety Direct Galway International Rally. The event which was the first round of the Tarmac Championship is notorious for its difficult conditions, providing a stern test for all competing crews who take on the event. This year saw conditions deteriorate on Saturday morning which left crews competing in very stormy conditions with severe rain driven by polar gale force winds. Needless to say the stages which were of a technical nature were made all the more difficult with plenty of standing water and mud adding to the challenge.
